Job Description: Classic Tree Services are looking for two motivated individuals to join our team as Apprentice Climbing Arborists. This position provides full, on the job training in a safety-first environment. Offering the opportunity to learn and develop skills covering all aspects of arboriculture, under the guidance of experienced professionals. As such we welcome school leavers and young adults who may have no prior industry experience to apply.

This is an opportunity to gain a trade and skills that can be developed throughout your career. The arboriculture industry offers varied and interesting work opportunities worldwide, with a high skill and income ceiling.

As an apprentice, you will focus on climbing using a rope and harness, to assist with all duties including tree pruning and removals, cable bracing and general tree care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the pruning and removal of trees using industry-standard techniques.
  • Learn proper tree planting and staking procedures.
  • Perform tree health assessments and identify pests or diseases.
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients.

Requirements:

  • No previous experience required.
  • School Leaver; OLNA or NAPLAN 9 Band 8
  • Non School Leaver; C Grades in Year 10 English and Maths or equivalent
  • Or AQF; Certificate I or Certificate II
  • Interested in arboriculture and working as part of a team.
  • Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
  • Driver's license and/or reliable transportation.
