What will you learn as an apprentice?

An apprenticeship in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration teaches you what components are used when installing, setting up, testing, repairing and maintaining air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Under the supervision of qualified tradespeople, you will also learn how to:

  • Dismantle and re-assemble mechanical components
  • Install and service complex refrigeration and air conditioning equipment and systems in different settings, across the residential and commercial sectors of the industry
  • Purchase and handle refrigerants according to regulatory requirements
  • Produce drawings of electrical and mechanical circuits
  • Locate and fix faults in air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and systems, and conduct testing to ensure they work properly

Where can your apprenticeship lead you?
